Yes.

If you’re really short on time and you’ve come here for a quick and simple answer, then definitely, a break away with MSC Cruises is a brilliant idea, so just head on over to the MSC booking page.

But of course we’d say that (we’re more than a slightly bit biased when it comes to cruise holidays), so let us explain why couples of all ages will have the best time ever on a cruise holiday.

What Can Couples Do On A Cruise Holiday?

It’d take less time to explain what you can’t do on a cruise holiday. The ships in MSC Cruises’ fleet  are so massive that almost anything is possible on a cruise holiday.

Be it forgetting all your worries with a relaxing massage or activating your inner party animal on the dancefloor, you can do it all with MSC Cruises.

The romantic options of what you can get up to can vary from one extreme to the other, so we’ve broken it down into categories...

What Is Entertainment Like On A Break With MSC Cruises?

Forget the idea of washed-up singers and novelty acts from yesteryear, because thanks to an exclusive partnership with Cirque du Soleil at Sea, onboard entertainment is on par with, if not better than, what you’d find in the West End.

Since mid-2017, guests on board the magnificent MSC Meraviglia have had the opportunity to enjoy two original productions - ‘Viaggio’ and ‘Sonor’ - created especially for MSC Cruises under the ‘Cirque du Soleil at Sea’ banner.

Each show is performed twice a night for six nights in the 413-seat Carousel Lounge high-tech theatre, which was built at a cost of €20 million specifically to stage the unique productions.

Live music plays a key part of the MSC Cruises entertainment offering and because everyone has their own idea of ‘good music’, you’ll hear genres to suit almost every mood and preference throughout the ship.

You can get wet and wild on MSC Bellissima’s Polar Aquapark - one of the most intricate and exciting water parks at sea with three twisting slides - or if you’re game for a giggle, head to the comedy club.

How Can Couples Dine On A Cruise?

A 20-hour buffet allows guests to pursue any tasty whim, sampling a bit of everything or focusing on one specific style of cuisine.

Alternatively, you could take a dimly-lit table at one of the many specialty restaurants.

The romantic eateries on offer vary depending on the ship, but chances are you’ll have the choice to dine in an American-style sports bar, a tex-mex steakhouse or a sushi bar (try saying that five times after a couple of cold ones) amongst others.

How Can Couples Relax On A Cruise?

The MSC Aurea Spa  - available on almost every MSC Cruises ship - offers the irresistible chance to get loose and lazy, offering around 20 varieties of massage including Balinese, sports, Thai and hot stone.

You and yours will be able to relax your body and mind in an exotic environment surrounded by natural stone, precious woods and rich mosaics.

There are also 19 body treatments and another 19 facials available, as well as aromatherapy treatments, a manicure and pedicure spa, a sauna and a Turkish bath.

State-of-the-art beauty treatments are also on offer, notably Mya Advance - a genuine alternative to body sculpting - and Q-Frequency radio frequency treatment and electroporation, a non-invasive, anti-aging treatment that feeds deep into the skin without needles.

Of course, you could simply opt to chill by the side of a pool, but with MSC Cruises, a pool is not just a pool.

On MSC Divina, you can unwind in the adults-only infinity pool. Usually the reserve of the rich and famous, it offers a unique sense of freedom and blurs the boundaries between the ship and the open seas. Adding to the soothing ambience are a number of sculptures that emit relaxing sounds of nature.

Meanwhile, MSC Meraviglia  has the bamboo pool. Its sliding retractable roof means it has the best of both worlds, serving an indoor and outdoor pool, weather permitting. The pool scales over two decks and features a bar, table tennis and four whirlpools.

Which Excursions Are Suitable For Couples On An MSC Cruises Holiday?

Of course, not all of the action happens onboard; multiple port calls throughout the duration of your cruise provide the opportunity to explore uncharted cities and experience new cultures.

The liberating versatility you’ll have enjoyed onboard continues on land, thanks to the wide range of excursions on offer.

In Italy, you could visit Rome’s awe-inspiring Vatican and Colosseum on a sightseeing tour of the city, stopping off to share a pizza with your loved one.

Meanwhile over in Barcelona, you could immerse yourself in the fascinating works of world-famous architect Antoni Gaudí during Gaudí’s Experience, an unforgettable four-hour voyage that takes you past some of the man’s most iconic sites.

Couples on a cruise in the Caribbean  may have the chance to stop off in Jamaica to swim with dolphins along the country’s beautiful coastline or indulge in some jungle river tubing, allowing the opportunity to sit back and enjoy Jamaica’s natural beauty as you go.

On dry land though, you could while away the day enjoying all the spoils of the fabulous Palladium Beach Resort in Lucea or take a drive on the wild side with a 4x4 off-road safari.

We’d be here all day if we went through every destination but hopefully we’ve provided a flavour of what you can get up on an excursion with MSC Cruises.
