Freebies on your voyage with MSC Cruises

The idea of receiving something for nothing has universal appeal. If there’s the possibility of getting goods or services without your bank balance being affected, pretty much everyone will be keen to hear you out.

The idea of receiving something for nothing has universal appeal. If there’s the possibility of getting goods or services without your bank balance being affected, pretty much everyone will be keen to hear you out.

At MSC Cruises, we understand this sentiment and although there are plenty of upgrades and packages you can bolt onto your voyage, we’re regularly asked what can guests look forward to without spending a penny more than their fare? This is what…

Activities

You’ll never be stuck twiddling your thumbs for something to do onboard an MSC Cruises ship due to the packed schedule of activities lined up for you.

Everything from sports tournaments to quiz games to arts and crafts classes are available without any extra fee required. There are various themed parties such as the start-of-cruise ‘sail away party’, sea party with its team water games, Bavarian-tinged Oktoberfest, and King and Queen of the Sea where you’ll be tasked with out-dancing, out-singing and out-acting the competition.

Any food lovers with a culinary gift in the kitchen can exercise their inner chef in the MasterChef At Sea challenge. Those victorious in the challenge will be helped by MSC Cruises to enter the selection process for the opportunity to appear on TV in the next series of MasterChef in their home country, with the possibility to cook for a MasterChef winner in their own home or dine in one of the MasterChef restaurants.

Library

Maybe you’ve read all the books on your e-reader or you’ve perhaps been struggling through a duff read. Well, your hunger for nutritious literary sustenance needn’t go unfulfilled thanks to the onboard library, which is open to all guests.

Fitness

Just because you’re miles out away from dry land, it doesn’t mean your fitness regime has to go on hold (unless you want it to). That’s because there are plenty of options to work up a sweat on any MSC Cruises ship.

Every guest aboard an MSC Cruises ship has access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre, where they’ll be able to workout whilst enjoying gorgeous panoramic views.

Aside from the high-tech gym, there’s also a variety of fun fitness activities every day to help stay in shape or tone up. They range from low impact classes like stretching, muscular relaxation and pilates - to high impact sessions like aerobics and fit dancing.

If you want to get competitive, there are ample facilities for basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, mini golf, bowling and table tennis.

Nightclubs and discos

On dry land, you’re often asked to pay an entry fee to get into nightclubs and discos but that’s not the case on an MSC Cruises ship. You’ll be able to dance into the wee small hours at a stylish onboard nightclub without paying a penny more than your cruise fare.

Casino

The same ‘no admission fee’ rule applies for the onboard casino too. You’ll be able to enjoy access to the Vegas-style game tables, slot machines and gaming areas absolutely free. Just be sure bring along some funds to have a flutter.

The West End on the waves

Some 80 original productions are performed in Broadway-style theatre across the MSC Cruises fleet every week and you can attend each one without paying a penny more than your cruise fare.

So diverse is the production schedule that you can take in at least six different shows - even on a seven-night cruise.

Keeping the young ones busy

If you have any children or teenagers in tow, you may be concerned how you’re going to keep them entertained.

Luckily, there’s a raft of clubs covering various age groups to ensure boredom is kept at bay. MSC Cruises has called in the help of Chicco to design the baby club (1-3 years) while the mini and junior clubs for those aged 3-11 have been kitted out by Lego with every cruise including a special event: the Lego Experience On Board - an entire day dedicated to fun Lego activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Meanwhile, teenagers can bide their time in a teens-only area, which serves as a cinema, gaming room and disco, depending on the time of day, ensuring teenagers are always entertained.

If that wasn’t enough, some ships come with a sportplex, Formula 1 virtual reality racing car simulators and aquaparks with awesome twisting slides.
